About Valencia Smiles Dental Care

Dr. Dario Valencia and his trained staff of dental professionals are pleased to serve their family of patients from throughout the Austin, TX area. We believe that part of providing a better quality of service involves being able to communicate with all of our patients, which is why our staff is bilingual, making it easier to better serve both our English-speaking and Spanish-speaking patients.

Of course, the other critical part of providing an excellent quality of service involves the training and experience of Dr. Valencia and his staff. Having originally received his DDS from the Universidad Autonoma de Manizles in his home country of Colombia, Dr. Valencia has worked hard for many years in order to establish his own practice here in Austin. Through this hard work and perseverance, Dr. Valencia has gained many years of experience in performing a wide variety of dental procedures for his patients. Dr. Valencia believes that the training and experience of his staff is also extremely important, which is why he has chosen only the finest dental professionals to work with him in his Austin, TX office.

Dr. Dario Valencia is proud to bring many years of experience and education to his family of patients. Originally from Colombia, Dr. Valencia received his DDS in 1996 from the Universidad Autonoma de Manizales in his home country. He established a practice there and worked for five years before immigrating to the US. Although he knew it would be hard work to establish a practice here in the US, Dr. Valencia never lost sight of this ultimate goal and worked for many years to achieve it. After spending seven years working as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Valencia is now pleased to bring his expertise to patients in his own practice right here in Austin.

Dr.Salehi is excited to treat her hometown neighbors! She received her bachelors degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and then attended The University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. Dr. Salehi stays up to date on the most current dental techniques to ensure you receive the best care. She is passionate about each of her patients being treated like family in a comfortable and caring environment.

Dr. Deana Smalls was raised in Round Rock, Tx where she attended Stony Point HS. She went on to attend Texas A&M - Corpus Christi to obtain her degree in Biomedical science, then to The University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. After working as a dentist in the Austin area, she decided to move to Arizona to complete an Advanced General Dentistry program.

Dr. Smalls believes in education, compassion, and communication. She aims to incorporate these concepts to provide the best comprehensive care and dental experience to all of her patients.

Dr. Lilia Marcela Ferral earned her dental degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico, where she also served as a teaching assistant and volunteered providing dental care and oral health education to underserved communities through the Caritas program. She completed her periodontal residency at The Ohio State University in 2021 and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (2022). Dr. Ferral is also certified in LANAP® laser therapy for the treatment of gum disease.

Dr. Ferral emphasizes the importance of maintaining excellent oral health as part of overall systemic well-being and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys outdoor activities, road trips, and walking with her dog, Lucho.
